It was great to see so many athletes taking part, especially those who competed for the first time. It was encouraging to see how involved the athletes were and how keen they were to hit their performance targets. We hope everyone enjoyed the event and congratulations to everyone who achieved their performance targets.
Results
The main purpose of the Chessington Cup series is self-improvement. It is an opportunity for the athletes to have their hard work verified in a competitive environment. Athletes should use the results as feedback and a stepping stone to achieving their performance standards.

Judging Feedback
- Aspire levels were scored highly in the execution and accuracy scores.
- Aspire levels need to boost their time of flight scores. This will come with confidence.
- The execution scores need to improve in the Challenge levels.
- For Challenge 1 the basic shape jumps, seat landings and half twists need improvement, especially in the second routine.
- For Challenge 2+ the somersaults need a quick small shape (tuck and pike) with an opening at 12 o’clock and held straight until landing with the arms by the sides.
- Instability and steps at the end of the routines need to be reduced and athletes need to remember to stand still for at least three seconds otherwise they will receive an extra penalty from the judges.
